Tel Aviv Yafo
Tel Aviv is the second largest city in Israel at 50 553 Dunams (19.5 sq mi) and is home to over 384 600 people. It's amazing skyline and overwhelming magnitude makes it one of the most popular cities in Israel. The city was established in 1909 mostly as an alternative living area away from the expensive housing in the historical neighboring city of Jaffa. As Tel Aviv began to expand throughout the years as more and more people flocked to the growing city it was decided that the two immediate municipalities should merge; hence the full name of the city being Tel Aviv-Yafo. Tel Aviv stands to be the leader in modern architecture and culture throughout Israel. The 20th century Bauhaus architecture style of one suburb of Tel Aviv known as the 'White City' has earned it a place on the world heritage site list in 2003.The nightlife in Tel Aviv is unparalleled and as such many young people come to enjoy the clubs, bars, shopping malls and restaurants. The city has much to offer everyone though, and it easy to get lost in the sprawling streets and busy CBD.
