The Binyamina Givaat Ada Municipal Council Building |
| Binyamina (Hebrew: בנימינה) is a former town (local council) in the Haifa District of Israel, south of Haifa and north of Netanya. In 2003 Binyamina merged with nearby Givat Ada into a local council now called Binyamina - Givat Ada. The town was founded in 1922. It was named after Baron Edmond (Benjamin) de Rothschild (1845-1934), philanthropist and supporter of Jewish settlement in Palestine. The archaeological site of Caesarea is located just west of Binyamina. In 2004 Binyamina had about 8,400 inhabitants, most of them are Jews, but there are also two Samaritan families from Holon.
